Who can apply

The visa is aimed at remote workers and freelancers employed by, or contracting with, companies based outside Spain. You generally need to show that you have worked with your clients or employer for at least three months before applying, and that the company has been operating for at least a year.

Applicants must prove a stable income above the national minimum threshold. The amount increases if you bring family members with you. You will typically need recent payslips or invoices, an employment or service contract, and bank statements that demonstrate consistent earnings.

The core paperwork usually includes a valid passport, proof of remote employment, a clean criminal record certificate, private health insurance valid in Spain, and proof of qualifications or professional experience. How the process works
